Never let the mind drift into boredom. Your noodle is too precious a thing to let it dither to boredom on a run. Fire it up and dream of the impossible!
Meantime, I thought you might be interested in reading this piece about a sportscaster who's work has been transformed by becoming a marathoner:

There are a couple of other really good running stories on the site

Wow, great blog. I think the fact that you are writing everything down is great, you've created your own little support system. I think that it's going to be much harder for you to stop your training now than if you weren't doing this.

Great idea.

Oh and by the way what an amazing part of the world to be able to run in. You're so lucky

I love your blog. For Allison, I used to live in the desert of California, and it was just dreadful to run in, so you have my profound sympathy.
But really, I love this blog.
It's hard to blog about running and keep it fun, but you are an inspiration!

Stumbled on your blog while looking for inspiration and I saw your post today. I must tell you that right now I live in the state of Arizona and it is truly a hideous place to be. When I run, all I see are cactus and dirt. Do you know how much I'd love to see fields and sheep? Wanna trade? =)

lol! Now you know why I hardly ever bothered to blog! All my runs are like that! (Except when I bump into weird Russ Abbott lookalikes who I imagine might be mass murderers, except he smiles and says hello to me when I see him now, so even that's not very exciting any more).
